It sucks to digest selective memory. How can something so rigid evaporate into thin air so completely, without so much as a fossil left behind? Erased. Vanished. Granted evidence was destroyed from the beginning, but in a way it’s unbelievable. Every piece turned from black to white. And if you flip it with your toes, there’s just more white. No one wants to be tied down to memories, but how do we sanction them without stuffing them in storage? I guess through evolution, transformation, keeping one piece you didn’t erase in some fold of your brain. The one that helps you smile easier or go for a risk more willingly. It’s not raw material, it’s corporeal, it catalyzes, therefore it’s not a lesson. Just a little piece, the smallest piece in the world, warmth that tingles from a simple phrase. Thank you.
